Petit Chefs was established in 2006 and is owned and run by Claire Gale who has trained in Professional Cookery.

Petit Chefs’ ethos is that children should enjoy learning about all aspects of food, in particular nutritional values and food hygiene, and above all, have fun in the kitchen.  Cooking and eating is a pleasure which few people allow themselves these days, and if children can be inspired from an early age, then they can pass on their love of food and new found skills to others.

A little bit of magic

Many of the sessions involve experimenting with different tastes and textures, to see what foods work together, and which don’t.  This will benefit children as they get older and learn to ‘throw a few things together’ that they find in the cupboard and fridge.

Cooking with the children in a home environment will encourage them to be more adventurous and confident in their own kitchens.  By getting them involved in the food preparation early on, children are often more likely to eat foods they would otherwise never have tried.

Flour, flour everywhere…

All participants will be provided with a chef’s hat (which they can take away at the end of the session), an apron, and will have full use of all equipment in the kitchen.  They will also leave at the end of the session with the food they have made (so please provide suitable containers).

Cookery fun for kids!
